Italian Mortgages

Buying property in a foreign country is a big step for any purchaser and can be a complicated process; however calling upon the expertise of professional and reputable companies makes the whole purchase simple. We have linked up with two of the largest private finance and international mortgage brokers to provide impartial advice and service to all of our clients.

Gaining a mortgage in Italy is now becoming easier, with the entry of Barclays and other International banks into the mortgage market place. The basic mortgage criteria can be different from company to company, though more mortgage products are becoming available all of the time, but the following exists at present for most companies.

  • Minimum £75,000.00 mortgage
  • Up to 80% Loan To Value (purchase price or valuation which ever is lower)
  • Repayment mortgages only.
  • Maximum repayment of 40 years.
  • Maximum age for repayment mortgage 75-80 years depending on the company.
  • Notary and other related fees will be about 2% of your mortgage amount.
  • Borrowing repayments can not exceed 30% of your surplus funds after deducting your existing loan commitments.
  • Mortgages are in Euros, and are normally fixed to the European Central Bank Rate.
